We are pleased to announce that we have placed an order for another brand new press. This will be an additional B1 machine, and will be installed in September 2015.
The new press, a Heidelberg XL106 will join another Heidelberg XL106 (which was only installed in December 2015), and a Heidelberg XL105 within the factory. An older B2 Heidelberg will be de-commissioned.
The machine is a 5 colour B1 press with inline coater, and full auto-plate change system. This feature will allow plates to be changed more quickly than on other press, creating additional capacity – ideal to help us achieve the tight turnaround times required by our clients.
We have also specified InPress colour control for this machine – this system scans sheets as printed, and adjusts colour automatically on the fly to ensure each sheet is within our colour tolerances, improving print quality for our clients.
Operations Director, Mark Partridge is delighted to announce the investment “we believe this press will help us provide even better service for our clients. Specifying the press with a coating unit is vital for the high quality work we produce, while InPress colour management and Auto-plate change will shave time off our make readies, and reduce the paper sued to get up to colour. We’re predicting an overall gain of an extra 45% to our capacity”.
We’re all looking forward to seeing the first sheets off the press in September!
